Just when you think the world couldn’t get any stranger, you discover a new plastic surgery procedure that essentially creates a lizard tongue on a human being. The procedure, known as tongue splitting, is gaining much popularity across the country and involves a surgeon cutting into the middle of the tongue between three and five centimeters.
What are the complications of tongue splitting?
Like any procedure, there can be risks involved — like infection, regrowth, speech complications, and loss of taste. However, when done right (and with the proper care afterward), it’s fairly straightforward!
If you’re itching to get your tongue split, be sure to check out your local state’s laws, as some have enacted bans on this procedure.
