This patient came to us with complaints of deep creases to the sides of the mouth that would not be improved with fillers. Facial tissue laxity was causing the skin to form deep folds that were exaggerated by hyperactivity of mimetic muscles. Loss of jawline definition also contributed to an overall aged appearance. After a comprehensive evaluation, a surgical plan was developed to address her facial aging concerns.

A facelift and neck lift was performed in our NYC office using local anesthesia with mild sedation to ensure her comfort throughout the procedure. The incisions were carefully and discreetly placed curving around the ears, extending into the hairline behind the ears, as well as in the skin crease under the chin. The underlying muscle (or SMAS) was lifted and tightened, establishing a defined facial contour and removing sagging skin.

For this patient, the facelift and neck lift surgery was able to effectively restore a more youthful facial appearance. Note how the procedure smoothed out and improved the look of deep wrinkles and lines around the mouth. The lower part of her face looks lifted, defined and rejuvenated.
