This patient sought our help because she was unhappy with her tired appearance. She noticed that her early jowls, sagging cheeks, and skin laxity under her chin all contributed to her fatigued look. She wanted to look overall more youthful and vibrant. A surgical plan was developed after a thorough evaluation of the patient’s facial features, skin texture and elasticity, and rejuvenation goals.

A facelift and neck lift procedure was performed on this patient in our NYC office under local anesthesia with mild sedation. The incisions were carefully and discreetly placed curving around the ears, extending into the hairline behind the ears, as well as in the skin crease under the chin The underlying muscle (or SMAS) was lifted and tightened. The main goal of this step was to create a youthful, defined contour of the lower face and get rid of tissue laxity.

For this patient, the facelift and neck lift surgery was able to effectively eliminate the jowls, elevate the mid-face and restore a youthful facial appearance. Additionally, the elevation of her mid-face helped reverse the tired look of her eyes without the need for blepharoplasty. The result of the procedure is a natural-looking rejuvenation, giving the patient the youthful, vibrant appearance she was hoping for.
