This patient came to us with complaints of visible signs of facial aging and wanted to appear more vibrant and refreshed. She was mainly concerned with significant jowling and loss of definition in the cervico-mental angle of the neck. An individualized surgical plan for this patient included a facelift and neck lift with attention to reducing excess fat in the neck and under the chin.

The surgery was performed in our NYC office using local anesthesia with mild sedation to ensure her comfort throughout the procedure. The incisions were carefully placed curving around the ears, extending into the hairline behind the ears, as well as in the skin crease under the chin. The underlying muscle (or SMAS) was lifted and tightened and excess fat removed.

The result of the facelift and neck lift surgery was a more youthful facial appearance, with restored cheek contour, smooth jawline, and sharper-looking cervico-mental angle. Significant facial rejuvenation was achieved while still preserving the patient’s unique facial characteristics.
