This patient came to us concerned about early facial aging and wanted to appear more vibrant and refreshed. She was unhappy with sagging cheeks, loss of jawline definition, and skin laxity under the chin, and felt that her eyes made her look fatigued. After evaluating the patient’s facial features and rejuvenation goals, a surgical plan was developed.

A facelift and neck lift along with upper and lower blepharoplasty was performed in our NYC office using local anesthesia with mild sedation. The incisions were carefully placed around the ears, extending into the hairline behind the ears, as well as in the skin crease under the chin. The underlying muscle (or SMAS) was lifted and tightened. Upper blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) was performed to remove sagging skin from the upper eyelids; lower blepharoplasty eliminated bags and wrinkled skin of the lower eyelids.

The result of the facelift and neck lift surgery was a more youthful facial appearance, with restored cheek contour, smooth jawline, and sharper-looking cervico-mental angle. The upper and lower blepharoplasty made the patient’s eyes appear larger, more awake and less tired. Significant facial rejuvenation was achieved while still preserving the patient’s unique facial characteristics.
