Aquaphor bottle
Winneconne, WI, USA – 6 August 2015: Package of Aquaphor lip protectant with sunscreen

Dr. Konstantin Vasyukevich was interviewed by STYLECRAZE about one of the most well known ointments, Aquaphor. The article highlights celebrities who use the product, and explains how to apply it effectively. With today’s vast array of moisturizing products, Aquaphor is unique because it is one of the oldest in the market. Dating back to WWII!

Though Aquaphor was proven to be effective over the past century, why would you want to continue using it? After all, we are no longer fighting in the trenches and do not need the skin protection from extreme elements. Dr. K explains, “Aquaphor creates an oily layer on the surface of the skin to trap water, keeping your skin moisturized for a long time. In addition, Aquaphor embodies emollients, which help moisturize and soften the skin.” The way this ointment lays on the skin, it helps reduce fine lines, prevent scarring and can even be used as a delicate makeup remover. Plus, this ointment treats many issues ranging from rashes to chapped lips.

Though this product might seem magical, one still has to be cautious with it. It can be used by most skin types. Aquaphor is known to be great for dry skin because of the way it traps oil on the skin. For those with oilier skin, a common side effect when using Aquaphor continuously on the face are acne breakouts. To prevent reactions, most dermatologists suggest following the directions on the label and test it out in a small quantity before use.
